View from Bad Water Death Valley

Bad Water is the lowest point in North America at -282 feet below sea level.  Despite the name, Death Valley, there is abundant water if you know where to look because of how low the floor of the Valley is.

Windmill off Tassajara Road

I made this image within a few miles of the Barn at Livermore.  This is another scene that has, unfortunately, fallen to bulldozers and development.

Whalers’ Cabin Point Lobos

There is a cove on the north side of the Point Lobos Park where this cabin sits under a huge oak tree.  It was used in the 1800’s by whalers who worked the area around the Monterey Bay in Northern California.

Bixby Bridge Big Sur

Thirteen miles south of Carmel, California is this much-photographed bridge over the Bixby Creek.  The image was made in the late morning as fog over the Pacific Ocean was being drawn toward the coast by the hot air rising over California’s Central Valley.
